Corporation to Pay Half Cost In Purchase of New Hymnals

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Corporation will contribute half the $25,000 cost in a fund drive which Memorial Church started recently toward 2,000 new hymnals.

A special committee, appointed by President Pusey, has recommended five possible methods of obtaining the new books, ranging from a reprint of the current hymnal (printed in 1926) to adoption of a denominational one.

However, the committee came out in favor of a new University hymnal based on a nucleus of hymns from a denominational book. The Rev. R. Jerrold Gibson, Acting Minister, will hold an open meeting this Sunday to discuss further suggestions.
