Yardlings Rout Tufts, 7-0

Captain Chris O'Hiri scored six goals to lead the freshman soccer team to a resounding 7-0 victory over Tufts yesterday. Showing the form that made him one of the top soccer stars in his native Nigeria, O'Hiri riddled the befuddled Jumbo defense for six goals as the Yarding squad posted its fourth straight triumph without a loss.

O'Hiri, who played center forward for the Nigerian Olympic team and scored two goals at Rome last summer, began his one man wrecking job on the host club with a goal early in the first period. He tallied again before the period was over, and the Crimson carried a 2-0 advantage into the second quarter.

A dash and high hurdles man, O'Hiri used his speed to good advantage when he rammed home his third score at 13:45 of the second period.

Opening up the third period as he did the other two, O'Hiri maneuvered through the defense for the fourth time to up the Crimson lead another notch. Picking up the habit, George Draper broke O'Hiri's monopoly by scoring the fifth Yarding goal at 6:10 Draper, who plays halfback and inside, was the only man on the squad to go the full distance.

However, O'Hiri still had some more work to do after Draper's goal, and he polished off the Jumbos with two final goals. Goalie Wallace Whitney turned back infrequent Tufts scoring attempts, to insure the Crimson shutout.
