After stretching an announced 10 minute recess to nearly 30 minutes last night, the Student Council gave up its attempt to collect the required two-thirds quorum and suspended action on all but procedural matters until Oct. 31.
Among matters postponed was discussion on the final wording of the Dining Hall Committee's referendum on cost reduction proposals in College dining halls. The referendum will be held on Oct. 25 as scheduled, however, Council President Howard J. Phillips '62, said.
At the next meeting, Phillips added, the Council will consider reducing the required quorum to a simple majority.
