Mayor Edward A. Crane '35 announced standing committee assignments for 1960-61 yesterday, and in doing so insured that the Cambridge Civic Association is well-represented in the chairmanships.
Joseph A. DeGuglielmo '29 was appointed head of the all-important Finance Committee, a Committee of the Whole which considers all important money measures. Mrs. Pearl K. Wise will chair the Ordinances Committee, also a Committee of the Whole, which deals with traffic regulations and zoning matters.
Councillor Alfred E. Vellucci, an independent who cast the deciding vote for Crane, has received the same two chairmanships he held last term, reportedly his favorite ones. They are Public Celebrations and Roads and Bridges. The latter rules on sidewalk repairs, awning and sign permits, and similar matters.
Each other independent got one chairmanship, while DeGuglielmo heads three additional committees and CCA Councillor Cornelia B. Wheeler another.
