Captain Pat Liles gave Harvard its first K. of C. Games blue ribbon in several years Saturday night at the Boston Garden. In the Farrell 500, Liles easily out-ran Yale captain Ed Slowik, the favorite, but had to fight off a blazing stretch challenge by Rhode Island's Vin McAloon to win. His time was a fine 58.3.

Shot putter Steve Cohen produced the second best indoor toss in Crimson history, a 51 ft., 10 in. effort, to take runner-up position. Although he added a quarter-inch to his University weight throw record, Stan Doten went unplaced with his 57 ft., 1 in. heave.

Running anchor on the freshman mile really team, Lowell Davidson thrilled the crowd by gaining 45 yards on the Providence leader and coming within a yard of victory.

Tom Blodgett cleared 13 ft., 6 in. in the pole vault. He also made the finals in the hurdle event, a considerable accomplishment.
