As Ingrid Waldron '61 started to get up from one of the stone seats in the Radcliffe Quad yesterday, she accidentally set off a planted explosive which burned both her arms.
A prankster had placed an unknown chemical under one of the rocks, according to Miss Waldron. "When I leaned on the rock there was a loud noise and my arms began to burn."
Dr. Sholem Postel, Director of the Radcliffe Health Center, treated her for minor skin burns.
Dr. Postel and a member of the Chemistry Department later attempted to determine the nature of the explosive, but were only able to establish that it contained iodine.
