HDC President Plans New Candidate Policy, Will Add Workshops

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Harvard Dramatic Club will institute an "active candidate program" at the end of this month, Joel F. Henning '61, newly elected club president, announced last night.

Henning proposed a group of large workshops this spring, primarily to train candidates for work on major productions. Candidates would work under the careful supervisions of HDC members most experienced in the particular fields.

To increase the attractiveness of club membership, he advocated another series of workshops, "conducted by professionals or top Boston drama instructors," that would be restricted to members.

"The club's immediate program must be maintained and strengthened using present facilities," Henning asserted, "although any long range program must naturally take the new theatre into account."
