White's Backers Gain Pre-Election Victory

Four known supporters of HYRC presidential candidate Dennis L. White '60 were elected to the five-man Elections Committee last night in a club meeting dominated by the "insurgent" White supporters. White called the outcome of the noisy, tense meeting "a convincing show of strength."

The Election Committee has full jurisdiction over campaign procedures, including length of speeches and number of seconding address. Most of the White supporters said they felt that control of it might well make the difference in the battle between the "insurgents" and the group led by David F. Peterson, now president of the club.

In what White called "a move to avert defeat," Peterson, charged with inactivity throughout his tenure, introduced a program of revitalization.
