Chlorophyll Study

Robert B. Woodward, Morris Loeb Professor of Chemistry, revealed at a meeting of the Northeastern Section of the American Chemical Society that a rsearch team at Harvard is nearing synthesis of chlorophyll.

Half of the chlorophyll molecule has been synthesized so far, but certain parts of the other half still present problems, Woodward explained. The scientists are now trying to perfect a compound which resembles this problematic half of the molecule.
