To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
It is unfortunate that the CRIMSON cannot keep its editorial position confined to its Editorial Page, as witnessed by the sloppy reporting job done on the HYRC election.
Note that the article did not mention even the names of the men who won the four offices. To put the record straight, Fred Claussen '59 was elected unanimously to the Vice Presidency, and Art Reade '59 was elected Secretary with a vote of about 62 to 46.
The CRIMSON report failed to point out that, far from charging corruption of ballot-stuffing, Dave Peterson immediately after losing by one vote moved that the election of Alec Dawson be made unanimous. I was sitting in front of Dave and heard him reject the suggestion made by Bruce MacGregor that he demand a recount.
Is it too much to ask that the only daily paper serving the Harvard community refrain from using its monopoly position to further its Democratic interests. Ron Nuttall '59
