HDC Will Offer Fry Production As Spring Play

Christopher Fry's The Lady's Not for Burning was selected by the Harvard Dramatic Club last night for its final major production this year. James E. Stinson '59, president, said that he expected the play to be produced in Agassiz Theater in the second half of April.

The question of a director for the play was not discussed last night, but Stinson was confident that the executive board will be able to find someone qualified for the job. He noted that he was gratified by the enthusiastic support of Fry's verse comedy among the HDC membership.

Sartre Play Dropped

Stinson also revealed that the HDC will be unable to produce Jean-Paul Sartre's Nekrassov, the play which was selected for the third major production last week. It was to have been the American premiere of Sartre's satire on international communism.

An expedition to New York on Saturday found that the American rights to the play are in dispute. The HDC executive board felt that under the circumstances the club could not go ahead with the production, Stinson said.
