Framke Returns To Center Spot After Operation

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Carl Framke returned to varsity football well ahead of schedule this week after an appendectomy. Framke is considered likely to provide needed strength to the center spot, although Bob Foster, who looked weak in the Tufts scrimmage last Saturday, has shown steady improvement.

Not expected to make a quick return to action however, is Jim Keating, who held the guard position opposite Harold Anderson until he was injured against Tufts. Pete Eliades, who has seen some action at center, will be shifted to the vacant guard slot to provide needed weight, it was announced.

Less seriously injured, captain Tom Hooper is expected to resume his end position within a few days. Hooper was the standout in the Crimson line Saturday.

Hal Keohane has also been temporarily side-lined with a bad knee.

In the backfield, Don Gerety is making a strong bid for the halfback position opposite Chet Boulris. Although Bill Crowley was expected to contribute heavily to the backfield, he has still failed to come up to pre-season hopes.
