The fighting Washington Senators continued their move for the American League pennant last night as Ted Abernathy baffled the Red Sox with a four-hitter to lead Cookie Lavagetto's men to a 5-3 victory at Fenway Park. Pesky Herb Plews with three blows led the attack for the visitors, while Boston's mighty Ted Williams went hitless, as did local star James W. B. Benkard '59.
