"The Eisenhower Administration has gone in too much for economy and not enough for needed Government services," charged Seymour E. Harris '20, professor of Economics, in a letter to the New York Times last week.
He noted that the size of the national debt has declined over the last ten years by about one-half in relation to the gross national product. He criticized "unwarranted slashes of security and welfare outlays, and excessive burdens on state and local government."
