Scoring in double figures for the third consecutive game, the JV baseball team defeated Quonset Point Naval Air Base 12-5 yesterday.
After the game outfielder Kent Hath-away of Leverett House was elected captain of the team.
Herb Scheiner pitched the first 5 and 2/3 innings for the JV before being relieved by Carl Packer who pitched the rest of the game.
Scheiner was very effective for the first three innings but gave up two runs on four hits in the fourth and another in the fifth before he was relieved. In all, he gave up seven hits and two walks while striking out three.
Packer also pitched well at first but gave up two runs in the ninth. He allowed three hits in his 3 and 1/3 innings on the mound.
Frank Saia with two singles and a triple and Kent Hathaway with two singles that brought in three runs led the JV's 13-hit attack.
