JV Nine to Play

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The JV baseball team opens its season under its new coach, John Caulfield, against Tufts today at 3 p.m. at Soldiers Field.

Carl Packer and Herb Scheiner are slated to pitch today's game. Packer depends upon a good fast ball, while Scheiner relies more upon an assortment of pitches.

Caulfield is confident about the team's offensive power. The first five members of the batting order are leftfielder Keith Costa, second baseman George Harrington, shortstop Leon Kasarjian and the team's two longball hitters, centerfielder Kent Hathaway and first baseman Frank Saia. The rest of the batting order before the pitcher consists of Jim Shue at third, Pete Banks in right field and Dave Fairburn behind the plate.
