Eight Varsity Players Win Places On All-Ivy League Hockey Teams

Ivy League hockey coaches have shown a great respect for the individual members of Harvard's championship team. Harvard players captured all six places on the League first team, and placed two representatives on the second.

The first team consists of James Bailey, goalie; Bob Owen and John Copeland, defensemen; Bob Cleary at center; and Lyle Guttu and Paul Kelley at the wings.

Named to the second team were Harry Batchelder (Brown), goalie; Dan Ullyott (Harvard) and Dan Goggin (Dartmouth), defensemen; Bob McVey (Harvard), center; Rod Anderson Dartmouth) and Henry Rulon-Miller (Princeton), wings.

Two Sophomores Picked

The coaches voted for a total of 22 men, and no one was chosen unanimously.

Only two sophomores, Anderson of Dartmouth and Harvard's Kelley were honored; and Cleary was the sole player to repeat as a first team selection.

The Cambridge City Council also expressed its appreciation of the team and gave special mention to Cleary, a Cambridge resident. The following resolution, introduced by Councillor Crane, was passed at yesterday's meeting:

"RESOLVED: That this City Council congratulates Coach Cooney Weiland and his fine young players including Cambridge's own Bobby Cleary on their outstanding record.
