Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
I am a Middletown, Pennsylvania, man. I was eating my evening meal last night when who should be on the radio but Bill Stern. After hearing him talk about Harvard and Johnny Yovicsin, I was amazed. I was speechless for a while. Then my blood began to boil.
Who is Bill Stern that he can talk like that. He condemned Harvard for getting beaten by Yale. He condemned the Harvard School. He said something about tearing down the football field. I didn't quite understand what he meant by that. He condemned Johnny Yovicsin as a coach. An unknown. That's when my blood began to boil.
I saw John Yovicsin coach at Harrisburg Catholic High for free just to get chances at other jobs.
I saw John Yovicsin coach at Middletown for peanuts.
I saw John Yovicsin coach at Gettysburg College.
I know what he did at these schools. His records prove that. In the last few years Middletown High School had two wonderful coaches. One was John Yovicsin, the other Don Seibert.
The past year John went to Harvard, Don went to Dickinson College. When Middletown knew they were leaving we had a farewell dinner for them. I was present at this dinner. Middletown knew what they were losing. I defy anybody, even Bill Stern, to condemn John Yovicsin. I think Bill Stern owes John Yovicsin and Harvard an apology.
I get a big kick out of some of these sports writers. A few weeks ago I was reading the sports page and this is what the headlines said: "Experts pick so-and-so to win." Then they had a picture of the experts--the sports writers--who told themselves they were experts.
Getting back to John Yovicsin, I want to say "Stick with John a few years and you won't be sorry." I read a lot about seven men quitting the Harvard football team and the reason for quitting. They (the sports writers) can't fool me. John just got the men separated from the boys.
I'm just sorry I don't have the money to send my boy to Harvard and Yovicsin next year. That's what I think of John Yovicsin.
My predictions are "By 1959 Harvard will be the champs of the league." Clay R. Nile, Middletown, Pa.
