Yale Champs Top Dunster; Adams Wins

NEW HAVEN, Nov. 22--Yale' intramural football teams dominated today's play-offs, winning the championship game as well as four of the seven House-College games played at New Haven. Adams was the only Harvard team to score a victory, downing Silliman 12 to 7. Two contests were tied.

In the championship soccer contest, Eliot House and Pierson College played to a 1-1 tie. Both teams scored in the second period and battled on even terms to the end of the game.

Dunster, the previously undefeated House football champion, bowed to Trumbull College, 14 to 7, in the championship game.

Trumbull, the Yale championship winner, tallied first in the third quarter after a scoreless first half. Minutes later, Dunster evened the score when George Herrick Intercepted an Eli pass and ran 40 yards for a touchdown.

Late in the fourth quarter the Trumbull squad moved to the Dunster eight yard line on a 20-yard pass play. From there, the Trumbull fullback dragged two Dunster defenders into the end zone for the game-winning score.

Kirkland, runner-up in the House football league, played Calhoun College to a scoreless tie. The two strong lines battled each other to a standstill at midfield through most of the game.

Adams House gained the Crimson's only House football win against Yale by tripping Silliman 12 to 7. Both Adams touchdowns came on passes by tailback Kent Campbell.

The Winthrop Purintans, who tied for third place in the House season, were defeated by Davenport College, 13 to 7. Halfback Paul London tallied Winthrop's only touchdown.

Leverett was the only second division team to score against its tough Eli counterparts yesterday, as the Green tied Timothy Dwight in the closing minutes of a tight 6 to 6 game. Fullback Mike Seoberts' 25-yard pass to John Hagen set up the touchdown and quarterback Pete McKay scored it on an option play, from the five-yard line.

Sixth-place Dudley was badly, outclassed by Berkeley, 26 to 0 in a wide-open game that featured long runs and injuries. The Commuters, who trailed 10 to 0 at the half, never got their offense rolling against a hard-charging line that continually rushed the passer.

Eliot never penetrated beyond Jonathan Edwards' 20-yard line, as the Yale team made a second period touchdown stand up all the way for a 7-0 triumph. The Elephants stayed on the ground for virtually the entire game, but met a stiff Edwards forward wall.

Lowell played a strong game, but was foiled by two long Pierson runs, 12 to 0. The Bellboys were forced to punt and quick-kick almost every time they had the ball. In the closing minutes they managed to organize one sustained drive, only to be stopped short of the goal line by an Eli interception.
