The Crimson rugby team went down to defeat for the third straight time on Saturday, losing to Princeton, 5 to 0.

Playing with a strong wind behind it in the first half, the Crimson several times came close to scoring, but when the teams changed ends, it was the Tigers who finally broke through to score near the posts. The try and their successful conversion was worth the five points.

The Crimson backs were much improved from the previous matches this season, especially in tackling, but the greater size and spirit of the Tiger scrum meant that all too often Princeton could check an attack at the last moment.

Seniors Geoff Locke, Ash Hallett and Woody Harris were the three Crimson forwards who stood out, and three-quarters Jim Damis and Ricky Carey both threatened when they had a chance to run with the ball.
