"Competition in the Ivy League is so close the winning team could have four losses, conceivably five, in the 14-game schedule," varsity basketball coach Floyd Wilson said Monday. He also noted that "Johnny Lee of Yale plays more like a pro than any other college player I've seen."
Lee is the third highest scorer in the Ivy League, with an average of 23.2 points per game. No Harvard man is among the top seven scorers of the League. Chet Forte, captain of the Columbia team, is leading scorer with an average of 27.7 points.
In second place is Lou Jordan of Cornell, with a 24.0 average, and behind the top three rank Dick Csencsitz, Pennsylvania, with an 18.6 average.
