The Yardling hockey team erupted with five goals in the final period yesterday to defeat a strong Dartmouth sextet, 7 to 1 at Hanover.

Going into the final stanza, the Crimson held a slim 2-1 edge on goals by Dave Vietze and Bill Collins. Dartmouth, which had lost only one game up until yesterday, held its own throughout the first two periods, and pressed the Yardlings hard up until the first few minutes of the third period.

Collins then scored his second goal of the game and the Yardlings broke loose. Captain George Higginbottom added two more tallies while Dick Fischer and Tony Marlowe contributed single goals. Marlowe had been out for a month with an injured ankle.

In beating Dartmouth, the Freshmen boosted their season's record to 19 and 1. With the return of Marlowe, the Yardlings will be at full strength for Saturday's tilt with Yale.
