Brown Frosh Down Harvard With Strong Aerial Offense, 19-14

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Despite a close 19 to 14 score, Brown freshmen outclassed the Harvard freshman football squad all the way Saturday behind the passing of quarterback Tony Petrarca.

Petrarca opened the Brown scoring in the second period when he completed a 60-yard pass to Carlin, and accounted for the second Brown TD minutes later with a short pass to Conners.

Although Harvard scored early in the first period on a short run by quarterback Borkenhager and again in the last period when alternating quarterback Ted Marmor crossed the goal line, the team could not offset handicaps of inexperience and injury.

Both star halfbacks Chet Boulris and Sam Halaby were sidelined because of injuries and probably will not see action before the Yale game.
