A 3 a.m. fire drill in Radcliffe's Holmes Hall last Sunday served as a pretext for a missing person search.
But P. Benchley was not found.
At 1 a.m. it was discovered that a P. Benchley had signed out to the Square and had not returned.
Holmes Hall has no such resident. The name, however, was registered in the dorm's weekend guest book, but without the signature of her student hostess.
When the hour grew later. Without any signs of the mysterious Miss Benchley, an unplanned fire drill was decreed. Extensive questioning of all the residents, however, threw no light on the identity or whereabouts of the alleged visitor.
"It was apparently a joke," commented dorm president Sally Baker '57.
