Jack Embersits, a 175-pound guard, has been elected captain of the 1957 Yale football team, it was announced yesterday.
The new captain will succeed Mike Owseichik as captain and as starting guard in next fall's squad. Embersits was a good backer-up this year for Owseichik, who led the Elis to their first official Ivy League victory.
Embersits is 19 years old, 5 ft., 11 inches tall, and comes from Pittsburgh, Pa. A metallurgy major, he has been a standout for the Elis in their best season since 1923, when they were unbeaten and untied.
