Yale to Build Dorm To House Females

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yale University will construct a six-story dormitory for women graduate students in the heart of the Yale campus, President A. Whitney Griswold has announced. The structure, which will house 211 women and cost $1 million, is not to be constructed as any indication that Yale will become co-ed on the undergraduate level, Griswold asserted.

Despite the assertion of Dean Arthur Howe Jr. that "an all male school is outmoded," Griswold publicly discounted rumors that Yale will admit women to the college; for which the Yale Daily News expressed its "fulsome thanks" and "relief."

Currently, there are more than 500 women in the graduate schools at Yale.
