Hasty Pudding Limits Theatricals Cast, Staff To Institute Members

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Hasty Pudding Institute has barred participation in its Theatricals to non-members of the Club, by decision of the executive board of the parent organization.

"We made this restriction because we want to assure ourselves that the cast will have the best interests of the Pudding at heart," Robert F. R. Ballard '56, president of Hasty Pudding Theatricals, explained last night.

In a letter sent to Institute members last week, Ballard and Godfrey G. Truslow '56, president of the Club, wrote in regard to the Theatricals: "In the past few years the cast has been drawn from the College as well as from the (Club) membership. This has been satisfactory, but this year we are limiting participation to members of the Club."

The Club will have to provide about 20 people for the Theatricals' cast and 15 for its production staff, Ballard estimated.

The show will open on March 15, run ten days, and not tour.
