Almost twice the usual number of students have been descending upon Lamont Library as the reading period draws to a close.

A survey last night revealed that 800 persons were using the library at 8:30 p.m. compared with a midterm average of about 450. Lamont Librarian Philip J. McNiff said however that the number was not more than usual for this time of the year.

He predicted that it will climb to a peak for the year on Tuesday night, as 900 dilligent students trek to the library on the last day before exams.

McNiff described attendance at the library as a curve which reaches the summit before finals, high points around hour exams, and the very bottom the evenings before the Princeton and Yale football games.
