Crimson Quintet Will Face Penn and Cornell at I.A.B.

In the last basketball action before exams, the varsity will try to improve its 5.5 record against Penn tonight and Cornell Saturday. Both games start at the I.A.B. at 8:30 p.m.

Neither the Quakers (4-6) nor Cornell (4-7) boast impressive records, but both should give the Crimson trouble. Penn has defeated Dartmouth, a team that trounced the varsity by 13 points Wednesday. An erratic squad--co-Captain Joe Stingis has scored more than 20 points in four different games, less than four each in the other six, while Lou Bayne has been over 20 three times and under 10 in the others--the Quakers have also beaten Brown, Swarthmore, and Texas Tech.

The visit of the Big Red will give Crimson followers a chance to see the smallest and perhaps the best player in the Ivy League. Standing only 5-foot-5, Big Red captain and guard Chuck Folles holds every Cornell scoring record.

Earlier this season, the varsity defeated the Big Red, 31 to 59, for the first Crimson basketball victory over Cornell in 15 years.

The Yardlings will meet the University of New Hampshire freshmen in a preliminary to tonight's varsity contest, with the tap-off at 6:45.
