The varsity golf team will oppose Brown today at 1:15 p.m. in Providence in their first Ivy League match.
The golfers, sporting a record of four wins and one loss, will start Captain Ted Cooney at number one, Jim Bailey at two, Bruce Thurmond at three, Bob Ornsteen at four, Brock Stokes at five, Jim Jones at six, and Roger Fleischman at seven.
Brown has defeated Holy Cross, which is the only team to beat the Crimson so far this season. Team players expressed optimism last night, however, on their chances to down the favored Bruins, because of improvements since the Holy Cross match.
