Maintenance Changes To Start This Month

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Department of Buildings and Grounds will be extensively reorganized for increased efficiency within the next month, it was learned yesterday.

Cocil A. Roberts, Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, will direct the program and become sole head of the Department July first, when Irving B. Parkhurst, Director of Buildings and Grounds, retires.

The Department's office in Dudley Hall will be vacated and transferred to the Department's main building at 917 Memorial Drive under the new plan. This move will bring the University's engineers, construction designers, telephone supervisors, and the Department's office workers under Robert's direction.

Office Relocation

The office of Arthur D. Trottenberg '48, Operating Manager of Houses and College Dormitories, will also be relocated, probably in Weld Hall, Roberts announced. The reorganization plan does not include changes for the Department's three supplementary repair shops and maintenance centers, located in the Medical School, the Business School, and the basement of Walter Hastings Hall.

The Department will also construct a plain concrete blockhouse, which will serve as a storage house for the main plant.
