Eliot Takes Singles, Comps on Charles

Eliot retained the House boating championship yesterday by defeating Leverett and Dunster in sculling. Both Houses finished ahead of Eliot in the crew race Tuesday.

Bernard Flynn of the Elephants won the singles in 3:19.9, and Eliot also took the comps when Steve Gordet completed the course in 4:16, ahead of second-place Peter Maggs of Kirkland. In the wherries competition Bruce MacDonald of Dunster won in 4:23.1. Huston Banton of Eliot came in second.

Last year Eliot won both the singles and comps, followed by Dunster, Adams, and Winthrop.

Bart Thomas of Wigglesworth won the freshman singles with a time of 3:25.3. In comps competitions Morgan Breckon of Hollis took first place with a 4:04.1 time.
