Med School Appoints Three as Professors

Two leaders in eye research and a sargeon have been appointed professors at the Medical School, Dr. George P. Berry, Dean of the School, announced yesterday.

Dr. Wyland F. Leadbetier received an appointment as associate of Sergory. He is also chief of the Urological Service at the Massachusetts General Hospitals. He was formerly a professor of Urology at Tufts College Medical School, and served as assistant in Genito-Urinary Surgery at the Harvard Medical School from 1946 to 1952.

Dr. David G. Cogan and Dr. Walter M. Grant '36, new professor and associate professor of Ophthalmology, respectively, will continue their research and teaching at the Howe Laboratory, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

In 1950 Dr. Cogan was called upon by the Atomic Energy Commission to evaluate eye injuries in the Japanese stom bomb survivors.
