Boston College Downs Golf Team To Avenge Earlier Defeat, 4 to 3

The varsity golf team lost its second match of the season to Boston College, 4 to 3, yesterday. The Crimson had downed B.C., 4 to 3, in a tight match last week.

Playing at the Charles River Country Club course, Captain Ted Cooney lost to B.C.'s first man Ben Murphy, 3 and 1, in an upset that determined the match. Jim Bailey H) defeated Bill Callahan, 4 and 3; Bruce Thurmond (H) lost to Dick Grady, 5 and 3; Brock Stokes (H) lost to Ed Coakley, 4 and 3; Bob Ornsteen (H) defeated Joe Moylan, 3 and 1; Roger Fleischmann (H) defeated Nick Raffely, 5 and 3; and Jim Jones lost to Bob O'Donnell.

The team will play an 18-hole qualifying round today at Charles River C. C. to choose six players for the Eastern Intercollegiates at New Haven this weekend.

The Crimson's representatives will arrive in New Haven Friday for a practice round before the qualifying round on Saturday. Cooney was medalist in last year's qualifier.
