Planners of All-House Weekend Protest Glee Club's Cancellation

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Carl A. Goldman '55, chairman of the Inter-House Dance Committee, last night charged the Glee Club with breaking a verbal agreement when it cancelled the concert it had scheduled for the All-House Weekend.

Goldman complained that yesterday's Glee Club decision had elimination "one of the major features of the Weekend, one we had been advertising prominently." He said he understood fear that the concert would be unprofitable was the Glee Club's reason for cancellation.

Jonathan Steinberg '55, president of the Glee Club, denied the charges. He said that the profitability of the concert was not a consideration, and added that "the agreement was only tentative."

"We felt that the Glee Club would he exhausted by this week's four performances of the B-minor Mass, and that, considering general exams and our other heavy commitments, we could not ask the members to sing next Friday. Furthermore, our accompanist had a prior commitment."
