Havelock Appointed Classics Chairman

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Fric A. Havelock, professor of Greek and Latin, has been named chairman of the Classics department, effective July 1.

Havelock succeeds John P. Elder, whose appointment as Dean of the Graduate school of Arts and Sciences was announced in November.

The new chairman returned to the Classics department at the beginning of the spring term, following a half-year sabbatical leave which he spent at his New Hampshire farm preparing a new book.
