The Freshman hockey team opened its season yesterday afternoon by defeating Melrose High School in a 6-0 shutout at Watson Rink.
Crimson securing started early in the first period and was consistent throughout the game, with two goals in the first period, one in the second, and three in the third. Goalies Harold Pratt and Richard Cleary did a sound job of defending the Crimson not.
The first gaol of the game was scored by William Collins on an assist from Richard Reilly. Later in the first period Reilly himself scored on a pass from George Higginbottom. The single goal of the third period was again the result of the Reilly-Collins combination with Collins scoring.
Third period scoring began with left wing Fischer placing one on an assist from Maurice Balboni. In the same period William DeFord drove one in on a pass from David Birch, bringing the score to 5-0. The final goal of the game was made by first line center Higginbottom, assisted by John Filoon.
