Dean Leighton emphasized yesterday that faculty members are required to hold scheduled classes on the day preceding Christmas recess, and students are expected to attend.
All undergraduate dining halls except Kirkland House will close after dinner on Dec. 21. Students remaining in Cambridge may take their meals at Kirkland by signing on for regular board or paying with coupons.
Hours at Lamont Library will be: Dec. 22-23, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Dec. 24-26, closed; Dec. 27-30, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Dec. 31-Jan. 2, closed; and Jan. 3-4, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students may borrow three reserve books for use over vacation between 12 noon Dec. 20 and 5 p.m. Dec. 21. Books will be due 9 a.m. Jan. 5.
