Anthropologists Will Attend 54th Meeting

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

All anthropology classes have been cancelled for the last three days of this week because of the 54th annual meeting of the American Anthropological Association, Gordon R. Willey, chairman of the department, said last night.

The Bowditch Professor of Central American and Mexican Archaeology and Ethnology explained that 18 professors and instructors from his department are taking part in the meeting at Boston's Sheraton-Plaza Hotel.

This morning Willey will conduct a special three-hour session on new study methods of prehistoric culture contact. All anthropology students, he said, are expected to attend this session, at least in part. He plans to present a new method of analyzing the fusion of two different cultures with only local artifacts, not written records.
