Crimson Freshman Beat Brown, 19-12

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Trailing 12 to 7 at the end of the first half, the freshman football team put on a second half drive to defeat Brown, 19 to 12, Saturday, and win its first game of the season.

The Crimson scored the first touchdown of the game a few minutes after the opening kickoff. A Yardling attack had bogged down on the Brain one-foot line. After taking possession of the ball, Brown tried an off-tackie play. Crimson wingback John Allen tackled the carrier behind the goal line, forcing him to fumble, and Chub Newell recovered the ball for a touchdown.

After Brown had scored twice in the second quarter, the Yardlings recovered a third-quarter Burlin fumble on the opponent's one-yard line, and quarterback Stan Merkel drove over for the score.
