Hoping to bounce back against the Bucknell Bisons after the unexpected loss of Dartmouth, the varsity spent yesterday afternoon working against Bucknell T-formation plays run by the freshman and JV teams. The practice lasted until the lights had to be turned on.
After the session, Coach Lloyd Jordan said that he expected his team to be at fall strength for the Thundering Herd's invasion next Saturday. Among those missing from practice today were guard Ten Metropoulos, who missed the Columbia and Dartmouth games because of a leg injury, and center Jan Meyer, who pulled a leg muscle in the Dartmouth encounter. Jordan said Meyer is the "only man I'm not sure will be ready for Bucknell, baring injuries later in take week."
While refusing to make any alibis for the team's loss to the Indians, Jordan admitted that "perhaps Dartmouth was more up for the game than we were."
"But when a team is up for a game, you can cool them down fast if you get a touchdown or two early in the game. We had a could of chances near the beginning, and missed them.
"The longer a game goes on, the tougher it gets to score a team that's really looking for a win.
