Freshmen Scrimmage With Reserve Eleven

Reserves on the varsity football team ran offensive plays against a husky freshman eleven on muddy Soldiers Field yesterday, as last Saturday's starters watched from the sidelines.

Coach Lloyd Jordan was resting his regulars after they played "a very fine game" against Columbia. Still injured yesterday was guard Ted Metropoulos, who sat out Saturday's game with a legpull.

In Metropoulos' place, Jordan is using senior Ed Rosenthal, whose performance against the Lions Jordan called "very pleasing."

Most of the team returned from New York at 9 p.m. Saturday night on the last New Haven train to reach Boston before railroad service was discontinued.
