Captain Phil Waring fired in seven goals yesterday as the Crimson lacrosse team swamped the University of New Hampshire at Durham, 16 to 8.
New Hampshire, held the varsity in check for the first half as the first two midfields, drugged by general exams in the morning, failed to keep ahead of the opposition. The third line of Tim Anderson, Albie Wells, and Dexter Lewis was the top line of the day and led the second half spurt which netted nine goals. Anderson and Lewis had two goals apiece. Lewis three assists, and Wells one goal.
Monk Aiello had six assists; four of them to Waring, and two goals. Ed Curtis and Karl Bjork each scored once.
This was an encouraging score for Coach Munro as a warmup for the Dartmouth game on Saturday, Dartmouth and Yale now being the obstacles to the oath for an undefeated season. The team should be at full strength with John Lane back in uniform Saturday.
The Yardlings dropped their game with Andover, 6 to 4, the fourth consecutive loss to Andover by the freshman squads. Stan Yassukovich made two goals, Jim Gale and Mike Holmes one apiece.
