The weather hampered the varsity golf team yesterday, but it was Amherst that really stunned the golfers, upsetting them, 4 to 3.

After three out of the first four varsity golfers won their matches, the drizzle started and Amherst bore down to win the last three pairings and the match.

Winners for the varsity were Ted Cooney, 4 to 2, Bill McAllister, 3 and 2, and Bruce Thurmond, one up.

Both Captain Jack Brophy and Pete Malkin dropped their matches one down. Jim Jones and Doug Boyd were beaten more decisively. Jones lost 3 and 2 and Boyd 5 and 4.
