A television showing of Natural Sciences 115 will broadcast from the West Coast this coming Dec. 27.
"I'm having some difficulty in deciding exactly what to present," said Harlow Shapley, Payne Professor of Practical Astronomy. Shapley has consented to telecast a condensed version of his popular Cosmography course at the request of the California Academy of Science. His class "attempts to orient man in a complex Universe."
The 30 minute program is part of the "Science in Action" series that is devoted to significant advances in science. Shapley has been a leader in promoting the new field of Cosmography, and has contributed numerous papers on the subject.
