Harvard weightlifters competed as a team for the first time in several years Saturday when the Harvard Weightlifting and Gymnastic Society participated in a six-college match at Briggs Cage M.I.T.

Since the competition was informal, no team scores were kept.

George A. Skokan '58, who finished third in the 198-pound class, was the outstanding performer for Harvard. His total lift was 435 pounds.

The Society plans a tentative inter-collegiate match, to be held at the I.A.B. later this winter. It is hoped that the H.A.A. will soon award varsity letters to intercollegiate weightlifters.
