Crimson Soccer Squad to Battle Princeton Today

RINCETON, N.J., Nov. 6, An underdog Crimson soccer team, which may nevertheless be on the way to its best season since 1950, faces undefeated Princeton here this morning. The game begins at 11:30.

The Tigers, under Coach Jyma Reed, have Won six straight games, defeating East's best teams; losing to Wesleyan and Dartmouth before winning its just three games.

Crimson coach Bruco Munro will field virtually the same team that best Amherst and trinity last week. In the only change, Chuck McVeagh, a sophomore playing his first year of soccer, will replace Mauricio Toro at inside left. Toro will remain in Cambridge to take an examination.

Except for his absence, the Crimson expects to be at full strength. Dick Fisher, Munro's utility man until he sprained an ankle, has recovered and will dress for the game. Tiger center forward Bon Clark was injured in the Cornell game last Saturday, but will start today.

Princoton, led by Captain Nick Cordere at inside right, has one of the strongest defenses in the ease. Tiger goalie Bruce Raymer has allowed only four Brace Raymer has allowed only four goals, an average of 67 per game. Flanking Cordero are Bon Clark and Rudy Wachsman at inside left and right These three keystone a forward line that has scored better than goals a game.

Crimson Lacks Reserves

On offense, the Crimson rank with the Tigers, after scoring 20 goals in seven games, but goalie Lindsay Fischer's record of 12 goals allowed, is nowhere near Raymer's, although it is better than average. Leading the Crimson offense will be Marv Weiss, inside left, and grey Hodnett, center forward, who have six and four goals respectively.

Munro, although plagued by a lack of reserves, has assembled a strong starting lineup. The halfbacks, especially center half Stacy Holmes and Captain Carey McIntosh, have had the knack of breaking up opponents' rushes before they gain momentum.

Mcintosh, using his wing hank Holmes effectively, has more than once been indirectly responsibly for a Crimson score. The fullbacks, Hugh Sargent and John Hadik, have played well, although Hadik has been hampered by a bad back.
