Band members last night expressed disappointment at being refused invitations--for unexplained reasons--to the Boston Harvard Club's annual athletic dinner tomorrow night.
According to Robert Scott Dills '57, assistant manager of the Band, Club officials have denied them admission because "they don't have room or money to feed us all, in addition to the 150 team guests, Club officials, and dignitaries."
"We do not understand what special circumstance, if any, exists this year to prevent us from being invited," Dills said.
Originally, the Club offered the band members sandwiches and beer in the club loft if they would play for the rest of the guests. At first the band turned down the offer. Later, however, they reconsidered and accepted. "It was too late," Dills said. "They would no longer have us, even in the loft."
