College Student Discovered Shot; Condition Critical

A 19-year old College commuter was on the critical list of Faulkner Hospital early this morning, suffering from a bullet wound in the right temple.

Joseph E. Bacigalupo '55 of 50 Lila Road, Jamaica Plain, was discovered unconscious in his room late last night by his father. A once-fired revolver lay beside him.

An ambulance rushed him to the hospital, where an emergency operation was performed in an effort to save his life. Faulkner authorities said that the youth was in a "critical" condition and was under a respirator.

Brilliant Student

The father, Edward P. Bacigalupo, is the assistant clerk of Suffolk Superior Court, and is a former state representative. He described his son as a brilliant student.
