Local Ten Faces Strong Eph Team

The varsity lacrosse team will place its six game winning streak on the line today when it meets Williams at 3 p.m. on the Business School Field. The Ephs sport a fairly impressive record with victories over Union, Middlebury, and Tufts. Princeton, who swamped the local ten 16 to 0, defeated the Purple 10 to 4.

The standout player on the Williams squad is Rod Starke, a fast, alert goalie who was one of the big factors in the Ephmen's victory last year. Coach Ralph Townsend has 12 returning lettermen from the '52 squad, seven of them starters. Along with Starke, leading attack man Captain Bruce Van Dusen will be another for Bruce Munro's men to reckon with. Though he has been feeding and assisting on most of the scores, he can shoot very well from either side.

To counter the Purple, Munro can call on a surprisingly healthy team. Following the postponement of the Dartmouth game the team has been able to heal minor wounds and prepare for the more difficult contests.

Once again the first mid field will be Captain Ron Huebach, Fred Horween, and Hank Wood; the second line has been changed with Chuck Edwards moving up from the third and playing with Todd Goodwin and Jim Telfer. The third will be Pete Palches, Pete Baldwin, and Bob Larsen. He attack will be Monk Aiello, Ed Curtis and high scorer Phil Waring while Tom Crump, Paul Jones., and Ted Sexton handle the defense chores. Steve Den Hartog will man the goal.
